Here are some fun facts about Logan's 2nd year (in no particular order).
He loves to hide and have you hide from him. If you start the game hide and a seek, be prepared to play it for a looong time. He will say "Hide!" as soon as you find him or he finds you.
He has started to play pretend (totally adorable). He likes to pretend he is a baby or a cat or a dog. He will wrap up in a blanket to pretend he's a baby, he'll say "meow" or bark to pretend he's a dog. For all three he will crawl around on the floor and also pretend to go to sleep (if he's being a baby he pretends to snore).
He says "Mom" and "Mama" about 150,000 times a day. No joke.
He is still as obsessed with cars as he was last year. His current favorite is a firetruck, followed closely by buses.
He will tell you his name is Lightening (as in Lightening McQueen). He says it "me-ming!" and it took us ages to figure out what it meant.
He will also tell you he is going to be two, and he will try to hold up two fingers, but can't really do it yet. He's practicing. The only other number he knows is eight, so when we count he says "Two! Eight! Two! Eight!"
He also can say "L," "O," "G," and "N." He can actually pick out "O"s every time and "G"s some of the time. It's pretty fun.
He loves nursery. He would thrive in preschool. He loves to be with other kids and whenever we go to the playground he tries to make a friend.
His current favorite movie is Big Hero 6. He loves Baymax and points to the screen every time he comes on. He also really likes Mickey (having been exposed to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse while we have cable this summer).
He HATES to have his hand traced (he cries when I try to do it!) but thinks that having his hands painted is fun.
He really likes babies and says "awwwww" when he sees them.
He loves me to read stories to him. He is really enjoying the Llama Llama books and we have to check one out every time we go to the library.
He is extremely attached to his three loveys, especially his blue puppy, which has gotten really gross and has stained and ripped ears (Logan chews on the ears mercilessly). His puppy is super gross and probably needs to be thrown away, but he loves it so much.
He went through several periods this year where he really wouldn't eat much at all, but the last few weeks he's been a lot better about trying some new foods (fingers crossed it stays that way). He loves pizza, peanut butter and jelly, apples, carrots, and mac 'n' cheese. So, you know, kid food.
He is a sugar-a-holic. It got really bad a few months ago where if he could even see anything with sugar he would flip out if he couldn't have it. Like full on melt down. He's better now, even though we do have to keep cookies and such out of sight. It is really helpful when taking pictures, though. I just tell him he gets a cookie if he smiles!
He is a runner. If you invite me to go somewhere and it doesn't have a fence, I will probably turn you down. Sorry! Logan runs for the street every chance he gets which makes taking him to parks and other outings very short and exhausting. People keep telling me that it is a phase and it started about eight months ago so I'm hoping the phase will end soon.
He loves his daddy. Jordan is a such a fun dad and Logan adores him. He gets really excited when he knows it's time for daddy to get home and wants to wait outside for him.
He is very polite! I'm not sure I've met a two year old with better manners. He always says "Please" and "Thank you." It's really cute. People tell me so all the time ;)
