They expire tomorrow, and about a month and a half ago we had only used one of them and we knew we wouldn't have time to use four. Bummer. So we decided to treat our parents to awesome Father's Day/Mother's Day gifts and gave them both free nights. Jordan's parents went up to a beautiful Holiday Inn in Park City, and my parents went to an amazing InterContinental Hotel in Monteray. They all had a great time and giving them away made us feel good. Yay for service!
We still had one night left and we needed to use it up, so we went to the Gulf Coast this weekend and used the last night and a few of our Hilton points to have an awesome weekend. We had to switch hotels but it was fun to see two different beaches.
Saturday we were in Navarre, Florida. It's a darling little town right on the water, about 4 hours from Albany. The beach was beautiful, the water was warm, and it was soo nice.
Here's the view from our room. You can see some blue, but it definately wasn't an "ocean view." We were a couple miles from the beach.
Saturday night we ate at the most awesome little Mexican restaurant and I had a fantastic chile relleno and Jordan got an amazing chimichanga. They had the best beans and rice I've ever had. Totally yummy.
Sunday we went to the Gulf Coast Branch, which was really darling, and this cute YW gave a talk on service. Jordan commented afterwards that she didn't take a breath through the whole thing, but I thought she was cute. Lol.
We drove down to Fort Walton to check out our next hotel. Here's the view from our balcony:
Awesome, right?
Jordan and I hung out on the beach and read and swam and just had a good time. The beach wasn't as nice as the one in Navarre, though. It smelled a little and there was seaweed everywhere. Still fun, though!
We woke up the next morning and really really wanted to go on a jet ski dolphin tour but didn't realize you had to get there at 9, so we were too late. Sad! Next time, though. We hung out in the pools and hot tubs and played ping pong until it was time to check out of the hotel, and then went down to Destin where we rented a waverunner for an hour. It was awesome. We took turns driving and jumping those huge ocean waves, and we got to see some flighter jets.
We had some lunch at Five Guys Burgers and Fries and it was super yummy. And then we drove home. After we got home, we went over to Jaylene and Steve's house and watched The 'Burbs, which was ridiculous but funny. It was a super fun Memorial weekend! Yay for free hotel nights that make it all possible without us going broke!
