Move to Arizona

We did it! We made it to Arizona. Lots and lots of work and help and so glad it's over!

The day before we packed up the truck, Jordan and Michelle brought everything upstairs into the living room and organized it into "do not open" and "open" piles. It made the move go much smoother the next morning!

 

Saturday morning we went to go pick up the Uhaul. We got the biggest one they had, 26 feet! We were so blessed to have several guys there helping us! Three guys from the ward, Jordan's brothers, my brother Matt, a friend from BYU, and Jordan's parents were all there to help. We had everything in the truck and the house cleaned by 2 PM, which was the fastest move I've ever done for sure. 

 

We had donuts from Reams that morning for the last time. We're sure going to miss those apple fritters!

 

Logan was just thrilled that we had a HUGE TRUCK. He wanted to sit in it every chance he got!

We spent Sunday through Wednesday afternoon at Mike and Laurie's house. They had a big open house where all of Jordan's family came to say goodbye. It was sad to say goodbye to his siblings and cousins! Here's Chip pushing Devon and Logan on the swings.

 

On Tuesday evening we headed out for a date night with the Browns. They had just moved to Utah and now we were leaving, but I'm sure we'll see them again when we come out to visit!

 

Wednesday afternoon we decided to go have some yummy ice cream at Leatherby's with Mike. Logan was SUPER EXCITED.

 

He always chooses the most colorful ice cream available. Jordan and Mike split the raspberry sundae and I got a yummy mint shake.

 

Wednesday night we got my dad from the airport and Logan, Dad, and I drove down to Grandma Huber's house to sleep there. We figured we'd shave an hour off of the drive. Thursday afternoon we took off for St. George. My dad and Michelle have never been there so we decided to hike around Pioneer Park for a bit and check out the red rocks.

 

We spent the night in the condo and then were off the next morning! We drove the rest of the way to Gilbert, AZ with lots of bathroom stops. Logan did pretty well, although he kept telling me to "let him out" during the trip. I wanted to show my dad and Michelle the neighborhood and model home and our house, so that was our very first stop. It's looking great so far!

 

The next day we unloaded all of our stuff into the apartment. Again we had a ton of help unloading! Bonnie, Dennis, Chase, Todd, AJ, Josh Bracken, and my dad were all there to help. It went pretty fast! And I am very happy with the apartment. It's always a little scary to move into somewhere you've never seen before, but the bedrooms and closets are huge, so there's lots of room for our furniture, and the pools are beautiful and we have one right outside our apartment. We had everything unpacked by Wednesday, and most of it was done by the end of Monday. Thank goodness! It feels so good to be here. We attended our new ward on Sunday and everyone was so nice and friendly. I can't wait to get all settled and really get to know people!
